Invasive Plants

Invasive non-native plant species are a major threat to pollinator habitats. Invasive non-native plants compete directly with native plants for moisture, sunlight, nutrients, and space. They aggressively spread and crowd out natives, diminishing plant diversity and range essential to the survival of pollinators. There are many invasive plants listed on state and federal watch lists growing and spreading in Simsbury.
