Pollinators

Pollinators carry pollen grains, which fertilize flowers, leading to seed and fruit production. Bees alone pollinate the vast majority of fruit and vegetable crops, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Other insects and small mammals are pollinators, too. The urgent need to protect pollinators is the fundamental reason why Simsbury Pollinator Pathway and like-minded organizations exist.
